  14. <p>     DIED. Morris Carnovsky, 94, actor who triumphed in
  15. Shakespearean roles after being blacklisted during the 1950s;
  16. in Eaton, Connecticut. Carnovsky, who began his six-decade film
  17. and stage career in New York City, where he helped found the
  18. Group Theater, was named by the House Un-American Activities
  19. Committee as a member of a communist-front group, but he refused
  20. to answer questions or name names. He was recruited by John
  21. Houseman for the American Shakespeare Festival in Stratford,
  22. Connecticut, when he was nearly 60.
